The New York MarketMaker project has received real ‘in kind' support from a range of public and private entities working together to enhance New York's local food economy by linking farmers to consumers.


New York Farm Viability Institute (NYFVI) - http://www.nyfvi.org

The New York Farm Viability Institute is a farmer-led nonprofit organization that provides grant funding to applied research and outreach education projects that help farms increase profits and provide models for other farms.  The Institute is dedicated to working with farms of different sizes, sectors, production practices and locations in New York State.  The Institute works to foster a vibrant agriculture business sector in New York by supporting applied research, outreach education, information transfer, adoption of technology, business planning and market analysis. The New York Farm Viability Institute promotes practical solutions to challenges facing New York's farms.

Working with farm product transportation providers to help: reduce transportation costs to existing and new local, regional & downstate markets (and beyond): increase business & profitability with hubs & links to provide full and mixed load opportunities: expand overall New York State AG Economy by increasing products & volume to markets: develop compatible database information to increase market & transportation opportunities & assist with sound local, regional & state planning: connect the transportation highway to the information highway.

The Pride of New York Program was developed by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets to promote and support the sale of agricultural products grown and food products processed within New York State. The Program's growing membership now includes farmers and processors, retailers, distributors, restaurants and related culinary and support associations ¬ all working together to bring you wholesome, quality New York State products.

New York State Vegetable Growers Association represents the interests of the vegetable growers in New York State through promotion, education and research.

Cornell University Cooperative Extension New York City - http://nyc.cce.cornell.edu

Cornell University Cooperative Extension in New York City (CUCE-NYC) is a research-based educational organization that adapts to the evolving needs of communities, families, and individuals by engaging them in experiential learning opportunities that are based in research. For over fifty-years, Cornell University Cooperative Extension-New York City has supported the translation of research into programs and policies to improve the quality of life for New Yorkers of all ages and races. We do much of this work through partnerships and collaborations with community members and organizations.
